Margaret Angela Gardzina

WAVERLY HALL, GEORGIA- Mrs. Margaret Angela "Ange" Gardzina, 93, of Waverly Hall, died peacefully with her family at her bedside Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Columbus Hospice House.

She was born in Newburyport, MA to the late John and Margaret Lyons on June 16, 1920. She graduated from Bamford Academy of Cosmetology. Her career life included hair dresser, factory worker, and sales at the Ft. Benning PX, Kirvens, and Matthews Ladies Apparel with whom she retired. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Prime Time, Focus, and S.A.C. senior activities. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and taking care of her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Edward J. Gardzina, son John Gardzina, great-grandson Korey Getz and 9 siblings.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra Lowis (Danny) of Waverly Hall, GA; 5 grandchildren, Katherine Getz (Kelly) of Rochester, IL, Kimberly Gregory (Neal) of Waverly Hall, GA, Ronette Oller (Jeff) of Waverly Hall, GA, Joseph Gardzina (Victoria) of Rosharon, TX, and Anne Bartlett (Wenzel) of Angleton, TX; 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Pine Mountain, GA on Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. A Rosary will be said on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA.
