Margaret “Beth” Merritt, 51, of Columbus, Georgia, died Monday, March 19, 2018, peacefully at her home. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21st from 5 to 7 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus, Georgia. The family will have a graveside burial at Arlington Memorial Park of Sandy Springs, Georgia, on Thursday, March 22nd at 2:30 PM with Reverend Jimmy Elder officiating.
Beth was born to Lanier Merritt and the late Margaret Miller Merritt in Atlanta, Georgia. Beth moved to Columbus and was a graduate of Pacelli High School in 1984. She would further her education and graduate from Columbus State University in 1991. Ms. Merritt, also known as “Aunt B”, is survived by her parents Lanier and Frances Merritt; brother, Jack and wife Carey, Margaret Ann and Walker of Marietta, Georgia; brother, Ernie and wife Stephanie, Miller and Maggie of Auburn, Alabama; sister, Kellyn and husband Larry, Jacob and Cole of Winston, Georgia; brother, Paul Reece of Franklin, Georgia;
goddaughter, Sydney Coward; and longtime friends, Sharon Stallings and Nicole Cotton.
