Maria Magdalena Whitaker

.Maria Magdalena Adamczeski Whitaker, 82, of Columbus, GA, Passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 8, 1933 in Kellersberg, Germany to her late parents Leo and Mechthilde Adamczeski. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She was a past volunteer Pink Lady at St Francis Hospital and was involved in many volunteer and outreach services in the community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was passionate about taking care of her family.

The family will receive guests for a Celebration of Maria's Life Saturday, March 5, 2016 1:00 pm in The Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning’s Main Post Cemetery. Father Daniel O’Connell of Holy Family Catholic Church will officiate.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Whitaker is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Herbert Whitaker; two sons, Mike (Sherry) Whitaker of Columbus, and Mark Whitaker of Smiths Station, AL; four grandchildren, Kayla (Andy) Ramseden, Kellie Whitaker, Chad (Rachell) Whitaker, and Candice Whitaker; two great grandchildren, Ella Whitaker, and Grady Parks; nieces, nephew, other family members, and many friends.
