Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, august 25, 2010 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. 31907. with Reverend Udell Addison officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knipe was born in Dudley, GA. on March 1, 1937 to the late Leonard S. Harrison and Eleanor Johnson Harrison. She has lived in Columbus for most of her life and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was retired from Dillard’s where she worked as a Sales Associate for many years. Her husband Leonard Dean Knipe, Sr. a daughter, Kathy Parry and a sister, Ruby Harrison Foxworth preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Smith (David) sons, Reverend Leonard Dean Knipe, Jr. (Debbie) John Knipe (Shelly) all of Phenix City, AL. and Richard Knipe (Melissa) of Warner Robins, GA. a sister, Helen Moody (Dean) of Waverly Hall, GA. a brother, Cy Derand Harrison (Barbara) of Columbus, Ga., 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
