If you met her you loved her. If you knew her you know she loved Jesus and put Him above all else. She was born and raised in Dadeville, Alabama. She was the daughter of Herbert and Mattie Lee Fuller. She was one of 7 children. She was married for over 40 years to her one true love Carlton B. Bryant. Carlton and Mary had 3 children, Judy Gay Bryant Cera, James Herbert Bryant (Jimmy) and Merri Carla Bryant. Carlton died in 1985 and Mary never remarried. Mary worked at the Piggly Wiggly for over 45 years as well as baked cakes and cheese straws year round for extra income. She was blessed with many grandchildren and a few great grandchildren.
She attended Calvary Baptist church for many years and volunteered in the track ministry and counting committee. In her later years she joined Rosehill Baptist Church and volunteered on counting committee there as well. Her family and friends remember her as unselfish, giving, kind, wise, witty, funny, brave, caring, and full of character, integrity, grace and honor. She loved to crochet and handmade blankets and Christmas stockings for many family members and friends. Through all the heartaches and medical challenges she faced throughout life she never once complained and her faith in God NEVER waivered. She was an inspiration, a role model, humble and would tell you she didn’t deserve the blessings she had. She loved baseball!!!! Especially the Braves. She loved Christmas and always made it extra special for everyone. She will be missed by all.
Donations can be made to Columbus Hospice, Rose Hill Baptist Church and Valley Rescue Mission.
