Mary Nell Burt, 94, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born March 8, 1921 in Columbus, GA. Her late parents were Blake Canady and Hattie E Tucker. Mrs. Burt was a former member of Concord Baptist Church. She was a Homemaker who loved to cook and to spoil her grandchildren.
The family will greet guests Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Rosehill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A private family interment will be Monday, February 22, 2016.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Burt is preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn B. Smith, and her second husband, John T. Burt. She is Survived by her daughter, Darlene Hobbs (Stan)Everritt of Smiths Station, AL; her son, Dale (Dena) Smith of Smiths Station, AL; five grandchildren, Kristie Hobbs (Chuck) Ridgeway , Kelli Hobbs (Tommy)Leak, Kerri Hobbs Erdmann, Tracy (Billy) Poole, and Tricia (Kevin) Jeffcoat; and eleven great grandchildren.
