Born February 9, 1926 in Washington, D.C., after moving to the area she was a Charter member of St. Anne Catholic Church, longtime member of St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, and a regular volunteer with the Springer Opera House Guild.
Mary Ellen was very busy in her younger years raising her daughters - volunteering and driving to all of their activities. After her daughters grew up and started their own families, she became “Mur” to her son-in-law’s, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Those who knew her well will miss her beautiful smile, winks, love of family, compassion for others, and a life of gratitude.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George T. Brown, sister, Mary Frances Donahue and brother, Thomas Donahue.
