

Mary Ann Plaisted, born on November 7th 1927 in Columbus Georgia and passed away peacefully after an extended illness on September 4th 2014. She was being cared for at a skilled nursing facility in Gainesville Georgia. She was preceded in death (8 days) by her husband of 68 years Raymond E. Plaisted Jr.
Services will be held honoring both Ann and Raymond at 2:00 Tuesday, September 9th 2014 at Living Grace UMC 3969 Edgewood Circle Columbus Georgia. Visitation with friends and family will take place at 1:00 prior to the 2:00 services. They will be buried side by side at Parkhill Cemetery immediately following the services with military honors and Freedom Riders participating.
Ann was a civil service clerk, having had multiple jobs as the family transferred around the world during Raymond’s active duty military career. After her retirement, Ann became well known among family and friends for her cake decorating, avid scrapbooking, wreath making and various other craft activities.
She was a member of Living Grace UMC. But for most of her life she was a member of East Highland UMC in Columbus Georgia.
Ann was survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly Plaisted Parker, Alan Scott Plaisted (from Gainesville Georgia) and Brandon Plaisted and Blake Plaisted (from Columbus Georgia); and 5 great grandchildren; and niece Patsy Doolittle Hanner.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Raymond and their two sons: Alan E. Plaisted (2009) and Robert Keith Plaisted (2000).
