Mavis Temple Stuckey

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 5:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia with Tony Keith officiating. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.

Mavis Temple Harvey Stuckey was born on August 28, 1937 in Palacios, Texas to the late Littleton Harvey and Bertha Hamlin Harvey. She was married to her loving husband of 61 years, Don B. Stuckey on August 9, 1955. She was a long time member of Edgewood Church of Christ, Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Stuckey was a homemaker until her children were grown; she then went to work at the local hospitals where she was the unit secretary for numerous doctors. Mrs. Stuckey will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her. She is preceded in death by other than her parents, her Son, Brixion Lamar Stuckey who passed in 1984, son, Dale D. Stuckey who passed in 2014, and her sister, Belva Sue Boyd.

She leaves her husband of 61 wonderful years, Don B. Stuckey, her children: Guy L. Stuckey (Brenda) of Charleston, SC, Janine Johnston (Greg) of Rincon, GA, Sherry Thompson (Danny) of Dublin, GA, Tonia Carroll (Joe) of Savannah, Ga; her beloved four legged adopted son, "Mitch"; her sister, Jenell Kaminsky of Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends to cherish her loving memory.
