Melanie "GiGi" Boyett, age 64, of Columbus, Georgia passed away suddenly on Thursday October 24, 2019. Melanie was born December 19, 1954 in Columbus, Georgia to her late parents, Juanita Walker Weaver and Thomas Noll Weaver. A visitation for family & friends for "GiGi" will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A Graveside Celebration of Melanie's life will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. Reverend Jimmy McClain will officiate.
Melanie was a life-long resident of Columbus. She loved the Lord and was a Christian. She graduated from Hardway High School, class of 1973 and married her high school Sweetheart, her husband of 46 years, James Boyett. Melanie retired from A. G. Edwards after 27 years to spend more time with her loving family. Her grandson Brody was the light of “GiGi’s” life and she loved to play and laugh with him. Melanie also loved fast cars, she loved to watch and participate in Drag Racing. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Other than her parents, Melanie was preceded in death by her brother Tommy Weaver. She is survived by her husband, James Boyett; son, Brett Boyett; grandson, Brody Boyett; nephew, Michael Weaver; special cousins, Sandra Kenfield, Yvonne Chumbley, Nancy Walker Lee, and Brenda Craig; other family members and many friends and customers to cherish her memory.
