Melvin Eugene Caldwell

A memorial celebration of Melvin's life will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Rivertown Church with David Rathel officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Parkhill Cemetery.

Mr. Caldwell was born in Columbus, GA. on September 26, 1944 to the late Patrick M. Santa Cruz and Lila Williams King. He was a life long resident of Columbus having graduated from Jordan Vocational High School. Mr. Caldwell was retired from the RC Cola Bottling Company and was a member of Rivertown Church. Melvin was preceded in death by a son Melvin Eugene Caldwell, Jr. and siblings, Brenda McCready, Delores King and Sid King.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia P. Caldwell of Columbus, two brothers, Alan Santa Cruz (Joan) of Ocean Springs, MS. and Jim Caldwell (Nancy) of Panama City, FL. and a brother-in law, Hughie Warmack (Barbara) of Columbus, GA.
