Graveside services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00am in Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Saul officiating. Family will visit with friends on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Striffler-Hamby from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Michael was born on October 5, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Vallie Mae Padgett and Buford Padgett. He was a certified electrician, heating and air contractor, and plumber, an all around handy man who would help anyone. Michael worked at Sherwood Arms for over 10 years, and several other apartment complexes around the Columbus area. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially the little ones. Michael was a diehard NASCAR fan.
Michael leaves his legacy to his brother, Gene Padgett; fiancée Connie Adams; sister-in-law, Nancy Hayes; stepbrother, Jimmy "Big Jimmy" Walthorpe; nieces, Amanda Dockum, and Cynthia Jordan; nephews: Tony Padgett, Christopher Colton Padgett, Donnie Padgett, and Jacob Padgett; numerous other relatives and friends.
