A Celebration of Michelle’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Columbus with Dr. James C. Elder, Jr, Dr. Steve King and Reverend Mike Skelton officiating. The family will share memories with friends Thursday evening, May 17, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907.
Michelle received a Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia in 1994. She was currently employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama as Product Manager. Michelle had a giving nature and was always volunteering to do whatever she could to help others. She was enthusiastic about her volunteer work with Adopt a Golden, Two by Two, Serving Spirits, and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Michelle enjoyed all sports, particularly UGA Bulldogs and NASCAR. She especially enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and family.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Rick; her parents, Charles and Tate Sasser; her sister, Kristal Sasser Renner and husband Mark; her nieces, Caroline Grace and Addison Mae Renner; her step-children, Quinley Russell and Mitchell Sneddon; her step-granddaughter, Leighton Russell; her father and mother-in-law, Joe and Kathryn Torres; and numerous other family members and friends. Her loving dog, Sunnie, who she considered their baby, also survives her.
