MSG (Ret) Myrle "Mac" Alford McIntosh, 84, of Talbotton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born October 28, 1938 in Lovelaceville, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Henry McIntosh and Jonnie (Shelborne) Santen.
Mac retired from the U.S. Army in 1979 after 29 years of honorable service. In 1981, he went to work with civil service in the Central Issue Facility, where he remained until 2001. Mac attended Upatoi Baptist Church. He was a dedicated family man who adored his family and had a great love for people, especially children. Mac took great joy in attending every event possible for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to talk, brag and show pictures of all of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia McIntosh of Talbotton, GA; his daughters, Connie (Tim) Noble of Dover, TN, Leigh (Danny) Williamson of Box Springs, GA; his son, Tom Ellis of Phenix City, AL; his grandchildren, Sabrina Noble of Oppelo, AR, Joshua (Jessi) Noble of Dover, TN, Candice (Blake) Barker of Fortson, GA, Taylor Ellis of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Ethan Ellis of Phenix City, AL, Dylan Williamson of Box Springs, GA and Shelbi Ballew of Opelika, AL; his great-grandchildren, Paxton Morphis, Wyatt Mitchell, J. Kuamoo, Carlie Kuamoo, Conner Noble, Oakley Noble, Josie Noble, Olivia Barker, Alyssa Barker, Christian Ellis and Georgia Ellis; his siblings, Rick (Terri) McIntosh of Smithton, IL, Carey (Monica) McIntosh of Lovelaceville, KY, Nevelyn Hawes of Lovelaceville, KY, Alfred (Juanita) McIntosh of NM, Donna Bennett of TX and Nancy Files of KY.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856 on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. (EST) with Military Honors. Pastor Sammie Mathis and Mr. Greg Lawrence will be officiating the service. Family will visit with friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. (EST).
