
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012, 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 1130 1st Ave, Columbus. There will be a reception following the service at the church. Private interment at Ft. Mitchell cemetery will take place at a later date.
Pat was born in Columbus, GA, daughter of Margaret B. Hendrix and the late Edwin D. Hendrix. She attended local schools and graduated from Columbus College. Pat was a retired vocational rehabilitation counselor with the State of Georgia, having previously worked as a caseworker at Muscogee County Department of Family and Children Services.
A Christian by faith, Pat worshipped and served with her parish family at Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus. There she was privileged to teach preschoolers for twenty years, served with several guilds, and was a former vestry member.
Pat was a mother, wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and most of all, friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. King, Jr., and is survived by her son, Andrew Douglas King of Los Angeles, CA.; her mother, Margaret B. Hendrix of Columbus. Her brothers and families include Jerry and Glenda Hendrix of Columbus, GA, and Ed and Beth Hendrix of North Augusta, South Carolina. Nieces and nephews include Jay, Amy, and Nora Zimmerman, Jeremy and Katie Hendrix, and Kyle and Meg Glenn, all of Atlanta, GA, and Justin Hendrix of North Augusta, South Carolina.
