Ms. Peggy Joyce Melton Hamilton, 76, of Phenix City AL, passed away at Columbus Midtown Medical Center, Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Peggy was born June 7, 1938 in Columbus, GA to the late James and Myra Snyder Melton. Although her life began in Columbus, she had a full life before coming back to Phenix City. Her career as a nurse took her to many parts of the country where she loved to travel. She loved her family and had a passion for life.
Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by two daughters; Mary E. Strickland, and Debra D. Strickland Funtez. She is survived two sons; Kenneth W. Strickland (Nancy), and Charlie O. Strickland; eight grandchildren; and one very special little great granddaughter ( Eva Lee).
The family had a private visitation Saturday, September 27, 2014 9:00-11:00 AM.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
