

Phillip B. Williams, age 56, resident of Columbus, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Monday, November 30, 2015, 3 p.m. with Reverend Jerry Speer and Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 3-5 p.m.
Mr. Williams, son of the late Fred Lewis Williams and Audrey Charlene Langley Williams, was born March 10, 1959 in Columbus. He was a 1977 graduate of Jordan High School. Mr. Williams began his working career in the carpet industry where he was a Department Manager for Columbus Carpet Mill. He then began a career with Total Systems (TSYS) where he has worked faithfully for the last 15 years. Mr. Williams was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he has served as Deacon and also Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed youth sports, where he coached both Little League Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball in the Columbus area.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Williams. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandy Williams of Columbus; two sons, Jacob Williams of Columbus and Zack Williams and his wife Ciara of Columbus; one granddaughter, Faith Gracelyn Williams of Columbus; sister-in-law, Nan Williams of Columbus; numerous nieces; nephews; many other relatives and friends.
