Columbus, Georgia- Randy Hecht, age 60, resident of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Temple Israel, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, 2 p.m. with Rabbi Beth Schwartz officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. Private interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery.
Mr. Hecht, son of Peggy Ann Levy Hecht and the late Charles K. Hecht, Jr., was born September 17, 1957 in Columbus. He was a member of Temple Israel; Active member, Chattahoochee Council Boys Scouts of America; and founding member and officer, Thunder in the Valley Air Show. Randy loved aviation and collected many airplane models. He was an avid Georgia football fan; enjoyed cooking; a friend of everyone; always had a smile; and loved his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Ashley Hecht of Columbus; one step-daughter, Casey Hazelip and her husband Andy of Columbus; his mother, Peggy Hecht of Columbus; two sisters, Lorrie Taylor and her husband Ben of Eufaula, Alabama and Kim Harding and her husband Mike of Columbus; one brother, Chuck Hecht and his wife Jane of Columbus; numerous other relatives and friends.
