Reba Fowkes

Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Saturday, June 2, 2012, 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Patrick Cemetery, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

Reba, daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Applewhite Culpepper, was born August 4, 1921 in Chattahoochee County, GA. She loved Jesus her Lord and Savior and working in His church as long as she was able.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Taylor; W.O. Ligon; and Bill Fowkes; son, Richard Ligon; and two sisters, Julia Mae Rudeseal and Margaret Grissom. Reba is survived by three daughters, Pat White of Fort Worth, TX; Sarah Williams and her husband Virgil of Clarkesville, GA, and Peggy Strawder of Box Springs, GA; two nieces, Brenda Rudeseal of Nashville, GA and Linda Jones of Valdosta, GA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
