

Richard Farrell, age 8, resident of Columbus, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Sunday, August 28, 2016, 5 p.m. with Father Frank Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service on Sunday, August 28, 2016 till 7 p.m.
Richard, son of Christopher and Lorraine Farrell, was born May 5, 2008 in Columbus. He was a 3rd grade student at Reese Road Elementary School and played soccer for the Columbus Youth Soccer League. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and had a strong passion for soccer, football, Avengers, and Batman.
He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Lori Farrell of Columbus; a brother, Devin Farrell of Columbus; maternal grandmother, Amy Barber of Tuckerton, New Jersey; maternal grandfathers, Ray Haldenwang and his wife Wyndie of Savannah, Georgia and James Cook and his wife Lilly Cook of Colorado Springs, Colorado; paternal grandparents; uncle, Michael Cook and his wife Alicia of Columbus; aunts, Christina Cook of Columbus, Shawnna Beswick and her husband William of Severn, Maryland; special cousins, Rylee Brooks, Athena Cook, Celeste Jones, and Rivers Beswick; special friends, Abby and Bobby Bourque of New Iberia, Louisiana; numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Columbus Youth Soccer League.
