MSG (Ret.) Robert Franklin Baugher

MSG (Ret) Robert Franklin Baugher, age 86, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday November 6, 2018. Robert was born May 8, 1932 in Elkridge, Maryland to the late Emily Stevenson Baugher and Milton Daniel Baugher.

MSG (Ret) Baugher had a distinguished Military Career; he served his country from 1950 to 1976 as an infantry soldier in the world to include Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. Some of his numerous decorations and commendation include; Combat infantry Badge, Expert infantry Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Medal W/V Device, Army Commendation Medal W/V Device, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal (8th Award). After retiring he worked in the Service industry, in Columbus for 17 years. Robert was devoted to his family, his fellow soldiers, and his country. He taught his children to work hard, save, and always be thankful for what they have. He will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Other than his parents, Robert was preceded in death by; his first wife Martha; son Horst Baugher; brother M Daniel Baugher and sister Betty Ruppert. He is survived by his wife, Myong S Baugher; daughter Rose Baugher Mott (Wynn); daughter-in-law Helen Baugher; sons Robert Chun Baugher (Cindy); Ronald Zeb Baugher(Candice); grandchildren Jennifer Mott Carter, Dylan Mott, H So Yung Mott, Gabriel Mott, Luke Mott, Christina Sohn, Benjamin Baugher, Ronald Zeb Baugher Jr, Abbigail Baugher, Wendell Baugher, and Helbert Baugher; great grandchildren Helbert Baugher Jr, Fame Baugher and Addison Crisson; other family members and many friends.

A Memorial Celebration of Robert's Life with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Baptist Church, 2913 Reese Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. Reverend Jim Albrecht will officiate.
