A visitation for the family and friends of Robert will be held Saturday, October 25 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA, followed by a Celebration of Robert's life at 11:00 AM with Reverend Ken Dawson officiating.
Robert was born on August 20, 1953, in Bamberg, Germany; the son of the late Robert Earl Knight and Margrit Lehmann Knight.
Family was the heart of Robert's life. He cherished his loving wife, brother, daughters, their families, to include all those who were part of his extended family. His greatest joy came from the countless times shared with those he loved. Robert was a devoted father, being deeply hands-on and dedicated. He fervently guided both daughters, entrenching the values of character and respect.
Robert had proven customer service, sales, and mentoring skills. His multi-fold career path included home security sales, and decades in route sales with Coca-Cola and Royal Crown. His stellar work ethic inspired colleagues.
Robert had a lifelong passion for sports. From playing baseball, to cheering on his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks and Atlanta Braves, he also coached women’s softball. Ongoing pursuits for Robert included travel, DIY projects, and documenting family memories.
Robert's focus-driven legacy did not include materialistic possessions. Rather, his heart was directed toward intangible values, such as unwavering love, loyalty, and generosity to all his beloved family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sue Ann Knight, his two daughters, Ashley Magan Rodriguez (Marc) and Jenna Knight Fuller (Adam), his brother, Albert "Al" Knight, and six grandchildren, Lola Kate Fuller, Banks Beckett Fuller, Karlie Paige Rodriguez, Klaire Elizabeth Rodriguez, Skylar Elizabeth O’Keefe and Justin Parker Jones.
