Robert "R.M." Marion Land Sr.

He was born in Harris County, Georgia on November 21, 1943 to the late Nancy Mildred Shipp Land and Ralph Clayton Land.

He was married to the late Virginia Land, together they called Harris County Home in the Fortson area. R.M. was one of the founding volunteer firefighters for the Antioch area. He was Christian by faith and attended Antioch Baptist Church. He was a man of many talents. R.M’s thirst for knowledge was never ending, he was always learning new things. His most passionate was mathematics. He loved spending time with his family. R.M. will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially loved him.

R.M. is survived by his daughter Holly Rozier (Kim); son Robert M. Land Jr.; and daughter April Carver; his brother John Land; his grandchildren:Sidney Land, Seth Land, Tristan Rozier, Landen Rozier, Keith Carver, Kristopher Carver, Kasey Carver, and Kalee Carver; his great grandchildren Justina, Jaylynn, Kristopher and Carver; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

A visitation for family and friends for R.M. will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 275 Antioch Church Rd, Fortson, Georgia 31807. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the Land family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Antioch Baptist Church of Harris County.
