TSgt (Ret) Robert Laverne "Bob" Poore

A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March, 23, 2012 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with full military honors according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

TSgt (Ret.) Poore was born May 9, 1932 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late Curtis and Mary Hodges Poore. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of honorable service, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. After his military career, TSgt (Ret.) Poore owned and operated The Frame Gallery for many years. He was also a dedicated member of Sherwood United Methodist Church where very involved with the music ministry.

In addition to his parents, TSgt (Ret.) Poore was preceded in death by his brothers, and sisters, William, Lamar, Hodges, Aubrey, Katherine, and Mary.

Survivors include his son, Michael Nickolson and his wife Rita of Salem, AL; his daughter, Diane Moncus and her husband, Mike of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, Abby Moncus, Alexis Moncus, and Michaela Moncus, Jessica Dushane, Tiffany Childs, and Shelby Nickolson; dear friend and caregiver, Cheryl Wilcheck of Seale, AL.
