Robert Lee Wilder Jr.

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- Robert Lee Wilder, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Mr. Wilder was born April 9, 1920 to the late Robert Lee Wilder, Sr. and Myrtie Ann Parrish in Wadley, AL. Mr. Wilder moved to Valley, AL where he worked for West Point Pepperell for many years and was truly dedicated to his work. Upon retirement he moved to Columbus and lived until his passing. He loved fishing, gardening and in his later years, flea marketing. He was a member of Kirland Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Wilder was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bates Wilder, a sister, Gladys Bassett and a brother Edger Wilder.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janice and James Tidwell of Columbus; three grandchildren, Justin Martin, Joshua Martin and Lucas Martin; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and David Albright; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Elouise Wilder and several nieces and nephews.
