

Ronald completed his service in the Navy and received an honorable discharge, reflecting exemplary conduct and dedication. His professional journey encompassed his role as a Design Engineer, designing machine parts for cotton gins and securing patents with Lockheed in Sunnyvale, California, Lummus Corporation in Lubbock, Texas. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as a trainer for Goody Products Inc. Kirby of Columbus, Georgia. Retired in 2003.
Ronald was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting. He was also a skilled craftsman, dedicating himself to creating and building by hand. Ronald's hobbies reflected his appreciation for the great outdoors.
Survivors include: three children, Tambi and Richard Arnold of Melissa, Texas, Cheryl and Eddie Brown of Shiloh, Georgia, and Deborah Brasington of Columbus, Georgia. Grandchildren: Laurel and Thomas Hennig, Seth Brown, Kristine Burton, Lindsey Arnold, Gabrielle Brasington, Kayleigh Brown; great-grandchildren: Madison Burton, Lilly Hennig, and Ivey Hennig. Nephew: Steve Welch, nieces: Beth Jackson, Kimberly Dabit, and Pam Thompson. Many loving cousins, who shared close bonds through the years.
Ronald was preceded in death by his ex-wife Roberta Welch. Brothers: Bobby Joe Welch, Grady Lavon Welch, and Larry James Welch.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
