Ronny Mack Thorne, age 55, of Fortson, Georgia passed away on Sunday August 25, 2019. A visitation for family and friends for Ronny will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A Celebration of Ronny's Life will occur Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907 followed by a committal service at Parkhill Cemetery with Revered Hank Reeves officiating.
Ronny was born April 22, 1964 in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany to his late parents Dorothy Grace Morris Thorne and Lindbergh Thorne. His family was later stationed at Ft. Benning and made Columbus their home. Ronny graduated from Columbus High School and Columbus Tech. He was employed at TSYS as an Operations Consultant. Ronny had a great work ethic, which he passed on to his children. He was a family man that loved gatherings, cooking, traveling, a good poker game and horror movies. He enjoyed his dogs and laughing at them. Ronny never missed an event: every little league game, chorus concert, golf match and theatre production. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, friend and sausage-ball maker.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Durham Thorne; daughters, Linda Grace Thorne and Sarah Elane Thorne; son, Ronny Mack Durham Thorne; sister, Sylvia Thorne Turner, and her husband, David Turner; brother, Mark Thorne and his wife, Allison; brother Jerry Thorne, and his wife, Kathy; brother, Jimmy Thorne; brother, Robert "Bobby" Thorne, and his wife, Rachel; brother-in-law, Phil Durham and his wife, Vonda; father in-law, Johnny Durham; mother in-law, Linda Durham; multiple nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
