

Mr. Russell Wayne Sparks, age 65, was born on November 25, 1960, and passed away on February 28, 2026. He was a resident of Phenix City, Alabama. After this introduction, Russell will be remembered as a devoted, independent man with a great sense of humor and a generous spirit.
Russell grew up loving sports, and as a young child he played football and enjoyed athletics. He attended Baker High School.
At the age of 18, Russell served in the Army and also spent time in the reserves. Throughout most of his adult life, he worked as a plumber, at Copper Construction in Columbus, Ga.
Russell met his wife, Lisa Ann Scott Sparks, in October 2005, and they were married on November 20, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Scott Sparks; his mother, Joan D. Floyd Sparks; his children, Russell Sparks Jr. and Joan Marie Sparks; his stepchildren, Jennifer R. Houck-Miracle, Thomas D.W. Houck, Judy Houck, and Christopher D.W. Houck; his grandchildren, Paige Gray, Taylor Hudgins, and Zachariah Sparks; his great-grandchildren, Amoreena Gray and Paisley Hudgins; his sister, Kelly Rutherford; and his brother, Randy Sparks. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Fred Sparks, and his brother, Danny Sparks.
Russell had a love for fishing and the outdoors, and he enjoyed spending time at flea markets, yard sales, and auctions. He also loved all types of vehicles—fixing them up and reselling them was something he truly enjoyed.
Known for his playful nature, Russell liked to prank his co-workers, family, friends, and wife, always bringing laughter to those around him. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, and his kindness and steady presence will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
