Sara graduated from Baker High. During her senior year, she worked at Kirven’s in downtown Columbus. She and Bill were married November 8, 1946. She began her busy life when her first child was born and three more followed. As members of Sherwood Methodist Church, she and her husband made sure the church was an important part in raising their children.
Sara’s love was her children. Her days were filled with cooking, sewing and making sure everyone made it to their practices and events. There were many days spent on the river teaching her children to swim and water ski. She and Bill were always active in sports with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
After her children were grown, she started her career in real estate and was quite successful. She and Bill loved their nights out dancing with friends. They were quite the “jitterbuggers”. Sara and Bill spent summers in their home in Panama City Beach where they loved having family visit, fishing and watching sunset on the beach.
Over the many years, she never hesitated in helping with all the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. That is what made her happy.
Sara was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Davidson; son, William Richard “Rusty” Davidson; brother, James; and sisters, Dot and Hilda.
Sara is survived by her son, Skip Davidson (Pattie); two daughters, Martha Jane Eldridge and Carol Monaco (Rocco); six grandchildren, Larry Eldridge (Tina), Andrew Eldridge, Chad Davidson, Amy Reddick (Tate), Trevor Stevens (Brittney) and Savannah Stevens; eight great grandchildren, Emily Eldridge, Stephen Eldridge, Ainsley Eldridge, Waggener Davidson, Berkleigh Davidson, Thatcher Reddick, Banks Reddick and Tatum Reddick; three great-great grandchildren, Aedan, Addi, and Austin.
