Sarah G. Bingham

Columbus, Georgia- Sarah G. Bingham, age 89, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Facility.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 11 a.m., according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Celebrant of the Mass will be Father Brian LaBurt. Rosary will be said at the funeral home on Monday, January 31, 2011, 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home afterwards until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Bingham, daughter of the late George Roy Goins and Lula Virginia Carroll Goins, was born January 16, 1922 in Russell County, Alabama. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Mrs. Bingham was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, CSM (Ret) Paul A. Bingham of Columbus; two daughters, Evelyn V. Garver and her husband Dan of Stephens City, VA and Carol Bingham of Columbus; one son, Paul A. Bingham, Jr and his wife Sally of Greensboro, GA; three grandchildren, Tom A. Bingham and his wife Amy of Smyrna, GA, Katherine B. Schwab and her husband York of Alpharetta, GA, and Nell R. Garver of Stephens City, VA; two great-great grandchildren, Patrick A. Bingham and Mattie E. Bingham; other relatives and friends.
