March 2, 1972 – May 9, 2020
In loving memory of Sheridan Lynn Surles, who was born on March 2, 1972, and went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2020.
Sheridan died unexpectedly at home in Columbus, Ga. Sheridan was the wife of Chris Surles and loving mother to Dalton and Landon Surles. When Sheridan found out that she was pregnant
with both Dalton and Landon, she was over the moon. What an exciting time, as she enjoyed preparing for their arrival with anticipation. She was so excited looking at all the tiny baby clothes, socks and blankets waiting for the boys. She always made sure all of their baby clothes were clean and smelling good. Sheridan was always caring for the boys and making sure they were “cozy”. Both boys were the best smelling babies in town, before tucking them into bed to their Sleep Sound in Jesus music. As the boys grew, they enjoyed time together as a family with their wiener dogs, making memories. If you know Sheridan, then you know about her love for music. She was always jamming out to her favorite tunes, whether at home or in the car. She loved a wide variety of music, but 70’s were her heart & soul. She would love to drive with the windows down blaring her music with such passion. Music is where she found peace, rest and comfort. Sheridan’s love was incredible and her spirit was touching will remain in our hearts forever. Sheridan and Chris met on Febuary 12, 1995. Believe or not, that night, they danced to the Electric Slide. Their first date was February 14, 1995 at The Loft, in downtown Columbus. From that day on, they were inseparable! They got married on the beach in Jacksonville, FL on October 4th, 1997 surrounded by family and friends. Sheridan was content with a simple life and never asked for much! One thing she knew for certain, she wanted to be a mother and have a close, loving family. Chris tried to provide a life filled with love for Sheridan over the years. Through it all, Chris wanted more for Sheridan than she wanted for herself. They strived to offer their family a life of understanding, compassion, and love. Not everyone understood Sheridan or her way of thinking, but Chris did. He always wanted to honor Sheridan by doing everything in his power to help her experience the love he felt for her in his heart. Whether it was a surprise hot air balloon ride or a “Love scavenger hunt,” he wanted her to know that she was loved and valued. May those treasured memories of love forever bring you comfort. The night Sheridan gave birth to Dalton was one of the most incredible moments in both Sheridan and Chris’s life. They experience love like no other! They had no idea of how much one
could love, until they looked into baby Dalton’s precious blue eyes. Dalton brought so much joy into their home; his Dalton-isms were just the best. You could see that Sheridan’s heart was so proud and
full of love. When Landon was born their family was complete! What a blessing it was to have this sweet bundle of joy placed into their arms for the first time. Sheridan and Chris were so happy to meet him and count his ten toes and ten fingers. Landon made life easy for them, as he was so easy going, content and giggly little guy. Their home was full of love, joy and thankfulness! The power of their faith and love for each other and God, has brought them through thick and thin. God is always in your hearts! May the Lord guide and protect you Chris, Dalton and Landon through all eternity. May the Lord’s favor be upon you, as your hearts grieve the loss of your beloved wife and mother. May you forever lean on Jesus to meet your needs and grow into the honorable men of God that He made you to be. May you reflect on your happy memories as a family and feel comfort in your hearts, knowing that your mother/wife will love you forever. May you find comfort knowing that she is in Heaven with Jesus and you will see her again. She is watching down on you from above with great love and joy for the bright future that is ahead of you.
May the words in the Lord’s serenity prayer follow all the days of your life.
