Sigelind "Sammie" Franz Ginn

Sigelind “Sammie” Ginn, age 70, resident of Ellerslie, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, 3 p.m. with Chaplain Dan MacMinn officiating.

Mrs. Ginn, daughter of the late Johann Franz and Aloisia Karolina Feig Franz, was born March 12, 1939 in Neurnberg, Germany. She was a Methodist by faith. Mrs. Ginn was formerly a nurse and had later become a renowned Artist. She was a water color artist (since 1982) and a member of the Columbus Artist Guild. Mrs. Ginn was preceded in death by a sister, Gudren Eitel. She is survived by her husband, Dan Ginn of Ellerslie, GA; a daughter, Carolyn Stewart-Childers and her husband Robert of Warner Robins, GA; a sister, Louise Fry and her husband Leon of Tifton, MO; step-children, Amy and Jeff Robinson, Rhonda and Tom McGrath, Randy and Beth Ginn, and Dana Ginn; ten grandchildren, Orion, Truitt, Hayden, Seth, Jordan, Amy, Daniel, Mary, Anna, and Alyssa; other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend their loving appreciation to the staff of Columbus Hospice, caregiver Teresa Reese, caregiver Lisa Gandy, nurse Sue Sample, Chaplain Dan MacMinn, and social worker Katie Greene.
