Thomas Lloyd Bailey

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating and assisted by Reverend Andy Hines. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bailey was born June 19, 1939 in Calhoun County, FL the son of the late Samuel Lee and Bessie Lauramore Bailey. He had lived in Columbus most of his life and was a Roadway Express retiree.

Mr. Bailey was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church and was very active in the Mission Columbus Ministry Program and The Helping hands program of Beallwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy K. Bailey of Columbus; one daughter, Cindy Lawrence (Larry) of McDonough, GA; one son, Danny T. Bailey (Sherrie) of Columbus; five brothers, Clyde Bailey of Graceville, FL, Hayward Bailey (Charlotte) of Slocomb, AL, James Bailey (Judy) of Graceville, FL, Bobby Bailey (Linda) of Hartford, AL and Donnie Bailey (Faye) of Slocomb, AL; two granddaughters, Melissa B. Yaun (Josh) of Columbus, GA and Tammy Middleton (Greg) of Wetumpka, AL, three grandsons, Adam Lawrence (Melissa) of Tallassee, AL, Matthew Lawrence of Tuscaloosa, AL and Josh Lawrence of Montgomery, AL; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, numerous family members and close friends.
