
Thomas “Kim” Taylor III, age 80, resident of Phenix City, AL., died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. A memorial service will be held in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 3:00pm. The family will begin receiving friends at 2:00pm.
Mr. Taylor, son of the late Thomas Kimbrough Taylor Jr. and Edith Peebles Taylor, was born March 29, 1934 in Columbus. He was a car enthusiast and loved to restore old cars and trucks from “plain jane to sharp” as he would say. Mr. Taylor was a pit crew member of a Nascar Racing Team for many years. He was a handy man and jack of all trades, he volunteered for the Muscogee County Fire Department for many years as well as former deputy sheriff for both Muscogee and Russell Counties.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Terri Leigh Morrow; and grandson, Levi Hall. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Taylor; daughters, Sharon Johnson (Mark), Kimberly Wynn, Terri Cameron, Christy Chapman; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and brother, Norman Lange Taylor (Lynn).
