He was a 1962 graduate from Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Before his college career, Tommy served his country in the US Army from 1965 until 1968. He attended the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1974. He later went to Oxford, England in the years of 1975 and 1976 to attend Ruskin School of Painting and Drawing. Tommy began his career in graphic arts as a young man in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Columbus, Georgia to work as a graphic artist for AFLAC in 1979. Shortly after moving to Columbus, he married Linda Morris Harris in September of 1980. Tommy retired from AFLAC Print Services at Communicorp as Senior Manager.
Tommy is survived by his brother-in-law Riley Morris (Roxanne). He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Morris Harris; his father Jesse Irad Harris and his mother Sara Josephine Mitcham Harris; his brothers: Milton John Harris, Ret. CSM David Noah Harris, Bruce Jesse Harris and Robert Timothy Harris.
Tommy's family would like to acknowledge the kind and professional medical care given under the direction of Dr. John Henderson D.O. and the staff of Brookside Glen Assisted Living Facility and Columbus Hospice.
