She was born in Munich, Germany on February 2, 1962 to the late Ernest Lee Thomas and Peggy Louise Johnson Thomas. With her dad being in the US Army, Tracie moved often and after her dad retired from the Army the Thomas family settled in the Columbus area. Tracie growing up in the Columbus area she was a 1981 graduate of Kendrick High School. Shortly after high school she was blessed with her daughter, Stephanie and soon after her son, James. Tracie worked in the Columbus area and upon her retirement from Columbus State University she enjoyed spending time relaxing with family and friends. She enjoyed needlework, shopping, and watching movies. Tracie was the loving spirit everyone loved to be with, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter, Stephanie L. Bray; her son, James W. Bray; her two brothers, Mike Thomas (Mary) and Barry Thomas; niece, Elizabeth Gray Thomas; her nephew, Jonathan Thomas; her best friend, Irene Kincaid (Vanpan) and other family and friends.
Tracie will have a service on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM to celebrate her life followed by fellowship with family and friends in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
