

Venita Dean Martin, “Nita" as she was known to family and close friends was a loving grandmother, mother and sister. She passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. Nita was full of life, laughter, and love.
Venita Dean Jackson was born on July 13, 1955 in Columbus, Georgia to Barbara Mae Alleman Jackson and Hobson Jackson. She was a native to Columbus living here her entire life. Nita worked at Swift for 27 years where she was a weaver, smashhand, and beamer tender. After the closing of Swift, she worked for NCR for ten years as a materials lead. Nita was Nita and if you didn’t know her very well, well that was that. She was one of a kind and she would let you know it. Nita loved her grandson first, family second and last but not least Tina Turner and the Atlanta Braves. She loved and accepted people for who and what they are.
Nita leaves her legacy as a strong, loving, accepting, giving and entertaining person to be cherished by her loving family to include: her daughter, Sharon Lockerman; her grandson, Brennan Harper; her sisters, Connie Clark, Cynthia “Cindy” Wisniewski, Sherry Jackson and Janet Romine; several nieces and nephews.
Nita was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Mae Alleman Fuller; her father, Hobson Jackson, and her brother, Carl Wisniewski.
