Vera Doris (Carpenter) Nix

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at Southview Cemetery, 942 South Church St. in Thomaston, GA. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Nix was a very giving lady that always made sure everyone was not hungry. She loved to sing and dance, work in the backyard with her rose bushes and loved her family and children. She always taught her loved ones to be kind, show unconditional love no matter what and how to cook and bake. She was a strong woman of faith, a virtuous, loving and forgiving person.

Mrs. Nix married the love of her life, Dewey Howard Nix, Jr. on July 4, 1941. Together they loving raised a family of two daughters and three sons. Vera worked as a textile worker at the Eagle Phenix Mills, a member of Living Way Foursquare Church and our “Angel on Earth.” She was a dedicated mother, loving wife and wonderful grandmother; she will be missed by all who knew her.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Donald Ray Nix and Stacy Howard Nix.

She leaves behind two daughters, Veronica Dickerson and Amanda Bailey; one son, Leonard Nix and his wife Carolyn; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends to cherish her loving memory.
