Virginia Woodruff Waddell

Graveside funeral services will be held at Parkhill Cemetery on Monday, November 14th, 2011 at 11:00 am.

Mrs. Waddell was born in Columbus, Georgia on June 19, 1916, the elder daughter of Frances Henley and Harry Ernest Woodruff. She was preceded in death by her husband R. Spencer Waddell of 24 years and her daughter Frances Waddell Calhoun Douglas and her son-in-law Lawrence Hunt Calhoun.

A lifetime lover of the outdoors, hunting, horses and golf. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames.

She is survived by her son Richard S. Waddell and his wife Katie and a son-in-law John Douglas, and five grandchildren, R. Spencer Waddell and his wife Meredith, Katherine Waddell Wynne and her husband John, Virginia Calhoun Snavely, Laura Calhoun Dudley and her husband Beau, Lawrence Hunt Calhoun and his wife Haley and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Frances Woodruff DuBose.
