

Willie Frances Rigsby, 93, of Columbus, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 15, 2015, in the loving care of Columbus Hospice. She was born in Buena Vista, GA, March 6, 1922 to her late parents John and Mattie Revell Melton. Mrs. Rigsby was a founding member of Eastside Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She had a passion for family and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive guests for visitation Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm, in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015, 10:00 am, in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, followed by a Committal Service at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor James Strickland Officiating.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Rigsby is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Melvin Rigsby; son, Larry Rigsby; daughter, Dorothy Pate; three brothers, Clarence Melton, Clyde Melton, and Frank Melton; three sisters, Fanny Rigsby, Lila Melton, and Ruth Holland. She is survived by two sons; Melvin Rigsby, and Marvin Rigsby; ten grandchildren, Rhonda (Ray) Taylor, Rita (Michael) Costello, Melvin (Esther) Rigsby, Russell (Windy) Pate, Kecia (Matthew) Simmons, Tim Rigsby, Steve (Stephanie) Rigsby, Lisha (Bobby) Harris, Richard Rigsby, and Shannon (Lucy) Rigsby; sixteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
