Wilson James Cochran Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Cochran will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Golden Acres Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Cummings and Reverend Andy Rutherford officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cochran was born September 8, 1925 in Fort Benning, Georgia to the late Wilson James Cochran, Sr. and Eva Boan Cochran. In addition to his parents his wife Joyce M. Cochran preceded Mr. Cochran in death. Wilson J.”Jim” Cochran, Jr. was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army-Air Corp, he received his Master’s Degree at Auburn University and was a Vocational and Adult Educational Instructor with Russell County Vocational School.

Wilson J. “Jim” Cochran is survived by: a son, Wilson James “Jimmy” Cochran, III, and wife Robin Cochran; a daughter, Joy White Robertson and husband Johnny B. Robertson; grandchildren Paul Elvin White, III, Jacob James White, Joseph Miller White, Allison Gale White, Matthew Murff White, Haley Michelson, Courtney Michelson; and one great-grandchild, Laney Brooks Murff White.
