

Zadie Mae “Honey” Perrin went home peacefully to Heaven on December 2, 2011, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Fortson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 3 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson with Pastors Mickey Adams and Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 at Piney Grove prior to the funeral service.
She was born in Harris County on December 10, 1925. She was the daughter of Albert Bert Taylor and Dora Mae Cannon Taylor Gordon and stepfather John Robert Gordon who raised her from age 12 after the death of her father. She was the widow of retired Army sergeant James L. Perrin whom she married in 1950. She graduated from Mountain Hill High School in 1942. She was a homemaker and Army wife, having been stationed in many places before her husband’s retirement. She was the oldest and longest standing member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized at the age of 12. She was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class and active in the Primetimers group. She loved her church and her pastor, but most of all she loved her Lord. She served as church clerk for many years and was past treasurer of the cemetery fund. She also worked many long months to help preserve the old Mountain Hill Schoolhouse. She was predeceased by her parents, stepfather, and husband as well as a brother William Taylor and one very dear cousin Mildred Taylor Hudson.
Survivors include her daughters Pat Perrin Fowler (Ronnie) and Nancy Perrin Baker, both of Fortson; a brother Ruben Taylor (Mary) of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Beth Fowler Stokes (Cliff) of Fortson, Kristin Fowler Gallatin (Dewayne) of Fortson, Nicki Schultz of St. Augustine, FL, PFC Candi Smith Chester of U.S. Army Afghanistan, and James Baker of Ocala, FL; great-grandchildren Zachary, Warren, and Tucker Gallatin, Nathanael, Levi, and Ellie Grace Stokes, Hannah and Austin Chester, and Bailey Baker; a cousin Georgia Belle Shannon; a special childhood friend Sarah Alexander; stepson Jimmy Perrin of Michigan; step-grandchildren Charlie, Nicholas, and James Perrin of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to thank Dr. Ron Hudson, Dr. Richard Robbins, Dr. Christopher Hasbach, Dr. William Fortson, and VistaCare Hospice for their wonderful care of her in her last days.
