Zianonia Gertrude McLaughlin

Zianonia Gertrude McLaughlin, 88, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on July 18, 2023. She was born in Samson, Alabama on October 26, 1934. Gertrude was married to the late Hoke S. “Mack” McLaughlin. Together they loved to go bowling, traveling and spending time together. Gertrude was an awesome cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was Christian by faith, attending Aletheia Church in Columbus, Georgia with her family. Gertrude loved her family dearly and caring for them was her main priority, it was in her nurturing self to be the selfless person she was.

She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughters: Debbie (Karl) White and Toni Moore; her grandchildren: Steve (Tina) Moore, Shannon (Jamie) Arnette, Heather (Sims) Benson, and Jackie (Cindie Corey) Moore; her great grandchildren: Madelyn Moore, John Thomas Moore, Taylor Arnette, Justin (Shelby) Arnette, Sims Benson III, Addison Moore, Avery Corey, Tommie Corey, Aaron (Kate) Rogers, and Brandon (Heather) Rogers; her great-great grandchildren: Liam Moore, Braxton Rogers, and Joelle Rogers; and her caregiver like a daughter Karen (Michael) Taylor.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. A service to celebrate Gertrude’s life will be at 11:00 AM with Dr. Eddie Pullen officiating. A private family burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery after the service.
