Zoe Ann Gunnels

Visitation will be from 5-7pm, on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Parkhill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gunnels was born December 16, 1930 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Albert L. Rigsby and Etta Whithurst Rigsby. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years. She spent her life as a homemaker and mother to four children.

Mrs. Gunnels was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years William E. Gunnels. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Gunnels and Gregory (Sandy) Gunnels, two daughters, Tina (Wade) Schlader and Cindy Gunnels, seven grandchildren, Trisha Evans, Mary Beth Collins, Christi Garrett, Hannah Gunnels, Ryan Schlader, William Schlader and Samantha Schlader, four great-grandchildren, Adrianne Evans, Ashleigh Collins, Will Evans and Karolyn Schlader.

Zoe was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a kindness about her that could make anyone her friend. She cared very much for her family. Her youngest daughter, Cindy (Down syndrome), was her little angel that she always said was sent to her from God. She will be dearly missed by her family.
