Miss Hammond was a parts inspector at Cummins Engine Co. for 40 years. She was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and a former member of Women’s Bowling League and softball teams. She loved to help her family.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Springer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born in Elizabethtown Dec. 16, 1924, Miss Hammond was the daughter of Lloyd “Pete” and Lura Mae Manleif Hammond.
She is survived by nephews, Jack (Danette) Pennington of Columbus, Phil Pennington of Brownsburg and John Hammond of Bloomington; and nieces, Kelley (Charles) Tashiro of Greenwood, Beth (Doug) Harrah of Indianapolis and Debbie Hammond of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alberta Pennington; and a brother, John T. Hammond.
