Earl Leroy Stanfield Jr.

Born in Seymour, Earl was the son of Earl L. and Virginia J. Brooks Stanfield. After graduation from high school, he attended and graduated with degrees from Franklin College and the University of Evansville and earned a doctorate from IU. Upon graduation, Earl taught at Bicknell Junior High School, Northside Middle School and Central Middle School. He taught history, geography and English and enjoyed reading and gardening.

Earl is survived by his father, Earl. L. Stanfield Sr. of Columbus; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles Steven “Steve” and Susie Stanfield, Scottsdale, AZ; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Erin (Krystoff) Stanfield-Marcinkiewicz of Phoenix, AZ, Allison (Matt) Collar of Sebring, FL, Erik (Kendall) Stanfield of Page, AZ, Jayce, Talon and Breeze Collar and Leif Marcinkiewicz.

Earl was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Brooks Stanfield on Feb. 19, 2010.

In keeping with Earl’s wishes, cremation took place. There are currently no services planned. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be sent to Earl’s family at www.myers-reed.com.
