She was born July 29, 1931, to Martin and Minnie (Reinking) Nordman, who preceded her in death. Eileen earned her associate degree in humanities from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
A devoted homemaker, Eileen poured her heart into her family. She enjoyed traveling, reading cozy mysteries, completing word seek puzzles, quilting, and embroidery, and she shared her talents generously with those she loved. Her warmth, creativity, and steady presence made her home a place of comfort and joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Thomas, and a son, Todd Thomas.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Lori (Rodney Ewing) Thomas of Columbus; Jill McKain of DeMotte, IN; Beth (Steve) Dallman of Crown Point, IN; and Lisa Hutchinson of Columbus. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Adam Thomas, Shawn McKain, Ryan McKain, Heather Forsythe, Matthew Dallman, Brittany Robinson, Lindsay Schutte, and Tiffany Browder; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought Eileen tremendous joy.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at Myers-Reed Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, also at the funeral home with Rev. Al White officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
