She was born in Nashville, Indiana January 13, 1951, the daughter of Omar and Rose Powell Barwick. She married Jack Speer in 1982 in Mill Race Park; he preceded her in death March 2001.
Mrs. Speer was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by daughter, Kim (William Bunch) Prather of Columbus; son, Matt (Ashley) Speer of Marshall, MI; sisters, Jean Grider of Columbus, Evie (Ronnie) Scoville of Alabama, Anna (Jim) Garmon of Greenwood, IN, Linda (Kenny) Bryant of Columbus, Sherry (Richard) Hicks of Connersville, IN; brothers, Kenny (Kay) Barwick of Elizabethtown, Bryan (Christie) Barwick of Columbus and Greg (Anna) Barwick of Columbus; 10 grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Aaron Prather; sister, Janice Whittington.
Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3330 30th Street Columbus, IN 47203, with Bishop Matthew Henrichsen officiating. Calling will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in Flatrock Baptist Cemetery.
