

He was born in Shelbyville, to George and Leona (Brown) Megerle, who preceded him in death. A graduate of Shelbyville High School, Felix went on to build a long and dedicated career at Cummins, where he worked from 1962 until his retirement in 2022. Throughout his 60 years with the company, he held several roles including PT Pump Test Operator and Team Leader, and was known for his strong work ethic, and respect for his coworkers.
Outside of work, Felix lived a life marked by discipline and passion. He enjoyed weightlifting and bodybuilding, remaining active and strong well into his later years. He was also an avid sports fan and a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, Felix was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Cantu; an infant son, Felix Megerle; and eight siblings.
He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will cherish his memory always: his children, Shawn (Reda) French of Shelbyville, IN, Andrea Terrell of Shelbyville, IN, Angela Megerle-Green of Columbus, OH, Damon (Sarah) Megerle of Columbus, IN, Larry (Kristen) Cantu of Columbus, IN, and Eric Boxley of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Felix will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and his lifelong commitment to hard work and perseverance.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Myers-Reed Chapel with Rev. Frank Griffin officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
