Helen Lenkutis Kirk, 81, of Lynnwood Court, died at 9:53 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Daniel Cash officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Foundation or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born Oct. 4, 1928, in Herrin, Ill., Mrs. Kirk was the daughter of William and Della Eckells Lenkutis. She married Paul M. Kirk June 19, 1949, in Herrin. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julia Susan (Archie) James of Fort Wayne; a son, Randall Paul (Pam) Kirk of Richmond; and daughter, Nancy Lynn (David) Kiser of Greenfield. The absolute joy and love of her life were her grandchildren, Benjamin and Paul James, Katie, Kendall, Brady and Rylen Kirk, Kaelyn (Ryan) Roberts and Lauren Kiser.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brady Len Kirk.
Mrs. Kirk was a 1947 graduate of Herrin High School. She had lived in Columbus for 52 years and was an audio visual aide at Columbus East High School from 1972 to 1982.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and knew that God's grace is in every moment of every day.
She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of South Central Indiana and Meals on Wheels. She was very active in Elderhostel experiences and had attended 15 Elderhostels across North America.
Her favorite activities were flower gardening and working outside.
